- University of Hull releases first transformation images
- The University of Hull reveals the first images of how the biggest capital project in its history will transform the Brynmor Jones Library.
Static shelving, including magazine display units, has white shelves and yellow glass end panels creating a striking visual effect. Already installed on the first and first mezzanine floors and floors 3 and 4 of the Library Tower, it is currently being installed on Floors 2, 5, 6 and 7.
In order to provide space to store books from those floors on which the new shelving was being installed, a temporary ‘decant area’ was created. Following design work by Ecospace to determine the amount of storage space required, this has been fitted out with FOREG mobile shelving to create maximum storage capacity. This shelving will, in due course, be dismantled and reinstalled in the basement together with additional mobile shelving and mobile picture racking.
Said Judy Wolff, the Library’s Redevelopment Manager: ‘We are extremely pleased with the quality of the Ecospace product and the company’s performance.’
